GIRLS GOT GOALS
A Group Just for Us Girls!
Girls Got Goals” follows the girls circle model and offers support for teen girls, based in separate settings, in Avery County. Girls Got Goals (GGG) is designed to set a safe, creative environment for adolescent girls to receive support for issues they experience in today’s world.
When GGG meets, they have a specific theme and planned activities that correlate with each theme. GGG allows each participant to take turns sharing while listening to their peers. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in activities using art, poetry, collages, journaling, etc.
Meeting Topics
Topics are specific to what girls experience and include what it’s like being a girl in today’s society. Some of these topics revolve around healthy friendships and connections, body image, goals, living in a digital age/influence of social media, ATOD (alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs), and decision making.

Being a Girl
Introduces girls to the positive experience of a support circle addressing topics such as, “Growing Up Female”, “Growth and Self-Care”, and “Female Role Models”. Activities include collage, affirmations, and theme-related crafts.
